Alanis Morissette announces first holiday album

Canadian singer Alanis Morissette has announced her first holiday album, titled ‘Good Weather for Immaculate Conception’. Scheduled for release on November 6 via Virgin’s Epiphany imprint, the 14-track collection includes two original holiday songs, ‘Christmas on the Dancefloor’ and ‘To an Empath at Christmas Time’.

The album features a variety of covers and collaborations. Notable guests include Brandi Carlile and Steve Martin on a cover of ‘Beautiful Star of Bethlehem’, as well as Martin Short, Joy Oladokun, Amythyst Kiah, and the UK-based professional trans choir Trans Voices. The tracklist also includes renditions of classics such as ‘O Holy Night’, ‘Ave Maria’, ‘Little Drummer Boy’, ‘River’, and ‘Last Christmas’.

This release follows Morissette’s recent induction into the Songwriters Hall of Fame and her 2022 ambient album, ‘The Storm Before the Calm’. She is also scheduled to perform several ‘Butterfly With a Machete’ shows at the YouTube Theater in Los Angeles starting November 5.
