Alanya Municipality and Fishermen Cooperative Sign Harbor Regulation Protocol

Alanya Municipality and the Alanya Fishermen Cooperative signed a protocol to bring lasting order to the town’s fishing harbor. The agreement, announced at a press conference with Mayor Osman Tarık Özçelik and cooperative president Kerim Balıktay, sets out a comprehensive plan to resolve years of administrative uncertainty, enforce licensing and address past violations that led to overcrowding and unregistered vessels.

The protocol will be implemented under the Antalya Governorate’s 2026/5 regulation on tour‑boat operations and the municipal council decision of 2 January 2018. All tourist‑service boats must obtain a new operating licence from the municipality by 31 October 2026; licences already held will be re‑issued free of charge. Boats that fail to meet the requirements by that date will be barred from commercial activity from 1 November 2026. The measures aim to improve safety, protect the local tourism image and ensure compliance with maritime rules.
