Alanya residents organize cleanup of polluted Obaçayı area

Two friends, musician Baran Aktan and swimming/triathlon coach Şevik Oğuzalp Doyuran, organized a cleanup effort in Obaçayı, Alanya, after discovering significant pollution in the area during a nature walk.

Equipped with trash bags, gloves, and masks, the pair began collecting various waste, including plastic, glass, cloth, and diapers, from both the water and the surrounding environment. The initiative expanded when the two men invited their families to join, resulting in a comprehensive cleaning operation. Aktan expressed disappointment at the state of the area, noting that the amount of waste found in and around the water was distressing.
