Alas Pilipinas Girls lose to Venezuela in U17 World Championship

Alas Pilipinas Girls lost to Venezuela in four sets (22-25, 15-25, 25-20, 22-25) during the classification round of the FIVB Girls’ U17 World Championship in Santiago, Chile. This marked a second defeat against Venezuela in the tournament, following a previous five-set loss in the preliminary round.

Venezuela was led by Amanda Pacheco Gonzales with 17 points and Yalesca Colina Lezama with 15 points. For the Philippines, Xyz Rayco recorded 15 points, while Caera Celis contributed 14 points. Despite the loss, the Philippines held an advantage in service aces and blocks.

The defeat moves the Philippines into a classification match for 15th and 16th place, where they are scheduled to face Czechia in their final game of the championship.
