Alas Pilipinas players face financial struggles during Asian Games

Alas Pilipinas Men team captain Bryan Bagunas has revealed that players faced significant financial hardships during their preparation for the Asian Games in Japan. Bagunas stated that the team has not received their allowances since July, forcing some athletes to borrow money from teammates or others to cover transportation costs to and from training sessions.

In addition to travel expenses, the players have had to pay for meals out of pocket when training schedules conflicted with hotel meal times. Bagunas noted that many of the players are student-athletes, making the lack of financial support particularly difficult. He expressed disappointment regarding the situation, stating, “It is really disheartening because we’re representing the country. We do not feel the support that we deserve.”
