Alaska Airlines expands Paine Field capacity and West Coast service

Alaska Airlines is launching a major network expansion at Seattle Paine Field International Airport (PAE), aiming to increase total departing seats from the facility by 50% between this fall and summer 2027.

A key component of the expansion is the introduction of twice-daily nonstop service between Paine Field and San Jose, California, beginning April 14, 2027. These flights will be operated year-round by Horizon Air using 76-seat Embraer E175 aircraft.

Additional capacity increases will be applied to several existing West Coast routes. Los Angeles service will expand to twice-daily flights using larger Boeing 737 jets, while Portland will see two daily flights. The airline is also increasing seating capacity for routes to San Francisco and San Diego to meet regional demand.
