Alaska grizzly bear encounter occurs during Maya Higa and Adapt livestream

During a livestreamed excursion in Alaska, streamers Maya Higa and Alexander “Adapt” had a close encounter with a grizzly bear. The bear approached within approximately 20 feet of the group while they were on a guided trip at a protected, salmon-rich viewing site.

As the bear moved toward the water to hunt for fish, the group remained still under the guidance of their crew. While Higa, who has wildlife handling experience, maintained her composure, Adapt expressed significant distress following the event, stating his heart was beating out of his chest after the animal sprinted nearby.

Crew members noted that the bears in this specific area have become habituated to human presence due to decades of supervised visits by guides. This habituation allows the animals to view the observers as non-threatening, though they remain wild and unpredictable.
