Spanish television undergoes programming shifts and format changes
The Spanish television landscape is undergoing several changes. Following RTVE's decision to reformulate the program ‘Cine de barrio’ by moving it to La 2 without a fixed presenter or studio, singer Alaska expressed her dissatisfaction on social media. She described the change as the end of a space that was “history of the television.” Creator José Manuel Parada also voiced disagreement, noting that both he and Alaska were removed from the format without medical cause.
Meanwhile, Mediaset is promoting its new daily entertainment show ‘Rueda la letra,’ hosted by Carlos Sobera. The program features a team-based competition format with seven podiums and a large central screen. The show aims to include a final challenge similar to the ‘Rosco’ mechanic, though using a different name to avoid trademark conflicts with ITV’s ‘Pasapalabra’.
