Alassio presents ‘Baia del Sole Accessibile’ tourism project

Alassio Mayor Marco Melgrati presented the ‘Baia del Sole Accessibile’ project at the TTG Travel Experience in Rimini. The initiative aims to improve the tourism experience for people with disabilities through integrated regional interventions.

Supported by a 430,000 euro grant from the Ministry for Disabilities, the project involves five municipalities: Alassio, Albenga, Laigueglia, Garlenda, and Villanova d’Albenga. Key actions include enhancing beach and public space accessibility, providing sea-based reception and accompaniment services, and updating tourist information with Braille and QR codes.

Additional components of the project feature inclusive tourist itineraries, free transport services for people with disabilities in Villanova d’Albenga, and training internships at local cultural and tourist sites. The project is scheduled for completion in November 2026.
