Egypt's Al‑Azhar High School Exams Proceed Smoothly Without Complaints

The 2025/2026 Al‑Azhar secondary school examinations began on Sunday, 7 June 2026 across Egypt. Students in the literary division sat papers on the Qur’an and Hadith under organized conditions. The central operations room reported no complaints about question difficulty or deviation from curricula, describing the tests as aligned with average student ability.

Oversight was conducted by Sheikh Ayman Abdel‑Ghany, acting deputy of Al‑Azhar, who monitored the process both on‑site and electronically. He visited examination committees in several governorates, including Cairo, Gharbia and Port Said, emphasizing student comfort and a secure environment. The Ministry of Religious Endowments and senior officials, such as Dr. Ahmed Al‑Sharqawi and Dr. Salama Daoud, also inspected committees. About 163,677 candidates participated—82,366 in the literary track and 81,311 in the scientific track—managed by 581 main committees and over 10,000 sub‑committees, with roughly 22,660 teachers assisting.

The comprehensive field and electronic monitoring aims to ensure orderly conduct, prompt response to any issues, and a supportive atmosphere for exam‑takers.
