Alba Berlin targets central role in NBA Europe launch

Alba Berlin management is preparing for the potential launch of NBA Europe, which is expected to begin within a year. While specific planning details remain undisclosed, Alba CEO Marco Baldi described the transition as a “complicated process” that could represent a “quantum leap” for European basketball by providing greater structural clarity.

Alba aims to be more than just a participant; the club intends to be a central stakeholder in shaping the new league. Discussions are currently underway at twelve different locations across Europe.

In addition to league developments, the club is making progress on a new arena project in Adlershof. Supervisory Board member Axel Schweitzer noted that an agreement has been reached with the city, with the goal of completing the modern facility by 2032. The project is intended to establish a long-term foundation for the club regardless of the NBA Europe outcome.
