Alba Carrillo finds refuge in her ancestral home of Nava del Barco
Television presenter Alba Carrillo maintains a strong connection to Nava del Barco, a small municipality in the province of Ávila located within the Sierra de Gredos regional park. The village, which has an estimated population of approximately 70 to 80 residents, serves as a personal refuge for Carrillo to escape her professional life.
Carrillo has purchased and renovated a traditional stone house in the area to preserve her family roots, as the village is where her maternal grandmother was born. The location is noted for its natural landscape, including the Laguna de la Nava, a glacial lagoon, and the Garganta de Nava, a stream with crystal-clear water and natural pools used for swimming during the summer.
The area features traditional mountain architecture characterized by granite masonry and wooden balconies. Local cultural highlights include the Church of San Bartolomé and the patron saint festivities held around August 24.
