Alba County advances transport contract overhaul and market modernization in Teiuș

The Alba Iulia municipal council is set to approve an amendment to the 2021 public‑transport delegation contract, incorporating assets purchased with funds from the National Recovery and Resilience Plan. The amendment will define how these assets are to be used by the operator, Societatea de Transport Public SA Alba Iulia, and set a redeployment fee of 2 % of the annual amortisation.

In the nearby town of Teiuș, the local administration has secured a €70,000 non‑reimbursable grant to renovate the town’s agro‑food market. The project will pave the entire market area, upgrade sanitary facilities and reorganise commercial spaces, according to Mayor Mirel Hălălai. The new urban plan also introduces a proposal for a metropolitan rail link between Teiuș and Alba Iulia, signalling broader regional infrastructure development.
