Alba hosts historical commemorations and culinary events
The city of Alba is organizing several events to mark the 82nd anniversary of the ‘23 days of the City of Alba,’ a period between October 10 and November 2, 1944, when the city functioned as a free zone. Commemorative activities include an international conference titled ‘The English Partisan’ at the Palazzo Banca d’Alba, organized by the University of Turin and the Beppe Fenoglio Study Center. A commemorative walk will also take place on November 1 to honor the locations associated with the city's military valor.
In addition to historical commemorations, Alba will host ‘Ama la Carne’ on October 25. This annual event, held in conjunction with the International White Truffle Fair, celebrates the Albese cattle breed (Piedmontese Fassona). The day features tastings in Piazza Risorgimento and a scientific seminar involving nutritionists and professors to discuss the nutritional and gastronomic qualities of the local meat.
