Alba inaugurates Barnaba da Modena art exhibition

The city of Alba is inaugurating a new exhibition titled ‘Barnaba da Modena ad Alba: La Madonna Bergui’, scheduled to run from October 17, 2026, to January 3, 2027. The exhibition features the 1380 painting ‘Madonna che allatta il Bambino’ by the artist Barnaba da Modena.

The artwork was donated to the municipality by Dr. Giovanna Bergui and will officially become part of the civic collections. The exhibition, hosted in the ‘Teodoro Bubbio’ Council Hall of the Alba Town Hall, aims to explore the artist's role and the historical-artistic connections between Alba, Liguria, and Lombardy during the late Middle Ages.
