A 43-year-old man was detained for 24 hours after entering the Alba Iulia police station in Romania on Saturday, October 24, 2026, armed with an airsoft gun and an airsoft grenade. According to authorities, the man pointed the items at an officer on duty and requested that the officer shoot him.

Police officers and members of the Special Actions Service (SAS) intervened immediately to immobilize and handcuff the individual. During a search of his clothing, officers also discovered a pocketknife. The officer targeted during the incident was not injured.

The prosecutor from the Alba Iulia Court has ordered the detention as the man faces investigation for violence against authority and the unauthorized possession or use of dangerous objects. An investigation is ongoing to determine the circumstances and motives behind the incident.
