Alba reports increased recycling rates and significant waste management savings

Recent data from the Consorzio Albese Braidese Rifiuti (Coabser) indicates an improvement in waste management across approximately 54 municipalities. The average recycling rate for the consortium has risen to 83%, while per capita non-recyclable waste has decreased to 98 kg annually.

In the city of Alba, the recycling rate reached 84.2%, representing an increase of over 5%. This improvement led to a reduction in disposal costs of more than 220,000 euros, while the sale of sorted materials generated over 330,000 euros in additional revenue.

Geographically, the Langhe region showed the most significant reduction in non-recyclable waste, with municipalities such as La Morra and Barolo leading the decline. However, results remain inconsistent across the area, as some municipalities reported increases in non-recyclable waste.
