Claudia Sheinbaum reports security and agricultural gains in Zacatecas

During her national tour, President Claudia Sheinbaum reported several key developments in Zacatecas and across Mexico. In Zacatecas, she highlighted a significant 85 percent reduction in the daily average of intentional homicides between September 2024 and August 2026, attributing this to improved security coordination and increased police salaries.

Regarding agriculture, Sheinbaum noted that Plan México has successfully increased bean production to 1.3 million tons, exceeding targets. Additionally, milk production reached 14.4 billion liters, and corn production hit 25.4 million tons. Infrastructure plans include the construction of the Osiris-Aguascalientes highway, scheduled to begin in November.

On social policy, Sheinbaum stated that the Bienestar Programs directly benefit approximately 710,000 people in Zacatecas, representing a social investment of 16.39 billion pesos. She also addressed the Fobaproa debt, characterizing it as an unpayable burden inherited from previous administrations. Furthermore, she denied that there are any active FGR investigations against Andy López Beltrán or Senator Adán Augusto López regarding fiscal fuel smuggling.
