Albacete allocates €133 000 to replace stolen street‑light cable

The Albacete City Council approved a €133,000 contract to restore cable that was stolen from the municipality’s exterior street‑lighting system. The contract, driven by councilor Carlos Calero, requires works to begin within seven days of each request and will run for one year.

In Victoria, Tamaulipas, mayor Eduardo Gattás Báez announced an initiative to toughen punishments for cable‑theft, increase State Guard patrols, and replace copper wiring with aluminum to make the material less attractive to thieves.
