Monzón municipal council approves traffic light review and Salou partnership

The Monzón municipal council has approved a proposal to review the city’s traffic light system to comply with new national regulations. The initiative, presented by the PSOE, aims to address maintenance deficiencies and ensure compliance with Royal Decree 518/2026. The new rules prohibit the simultaneous use of flashing amber lights for vehicles and green lights for pedestrians at crossings to prevent confusion.

Additionally, the council approved a protocol for a formal twinning with Salou. This partnership, supported by the PP, PSOE, and VOX, seeks to strengthen historical, cultural, and tourism ties between the two locations. The agreement focuses on joint activities planned for 2027, leveraging shared historical links to King James I.
