Albacete Half Marathon reaches record 4,250 registrations

The XXIX edition of the ‘Ciudad de Albacete’ International Half Marathon has reached a record number of participants, with 4,250 athletes currently registered. The event is scheduled to take place on October 4, with the start and finish located on Avenida de España.

Sports Councilor Francisco Villaescusa noted that registration remains open until September 1, suggesting the total could approach 4,500 runners. The race has seen consistent growth, increasing from 2,400 participants in June 2023 to nearly 3,700 in 2024 following its move to October.

Last year's competition saw record-breaking times from Ethiopian runners Hagos Eyob Gared in the men's category (1h 00’ 42’’) and Kiros Muaz Bayruu in the women's category (1h 09’ 09’’).
