Albacete health professionals set record with 349 scientific publications

Health professionals at the Gerencia de Atención Integrada (GAI) of Albacete, part of the Castilla-La Mancha Health Service (SESCAM), achieved a historic record in scientific production during 2025. The health sciences library reported that professionals published a total of 349 articles in prestigious scientific journals, marking the highest level of research activity in the area's history.

Of these publications, which were indexed in databases such as PubMed, Scopus, and Web of Science, 40.89% were positioned in the first quartile (Q1), representing the highest impact factor. This total surpasses the previous record of 339 publications set in 2021 during the pandemic peak.

The research output included significant contributions from various specialties, most notably Family and Community Medicine, Neurology, Endocrinology, Cardiology, the Research Unit, and Hematology. Other notable contributions came from Hospital Pharmacy, Pulmonology, Internal Medicine, Immunotherapy, and Pathology.
