Albacete launches rural employment program to prevent migration

Santi Cabañero, president of the Diputación de Albacete, has promoted a new initiative aimed at creating job opportunities within rural areas to prevent population displacement. During the inauguration of the ‘Mujer rural, empleo y corresponsabilidad’ session, the first diplomas of the Dipualba Protege II program were presented.

The program focuses on providing training and tools to rural residents, particularly women, to foster autonomy and personal development. Cabañero emphasized that the goal of the initiative is to allow individuals to pursue professional projects within their own territories rather than being forced to migrate to urban centers due to a lack of local employment options.
