Albacete Local Police celebrates 172nd anniversary

The Albacete Local Police celebrated its 172nd anniversary with an official ceremony presided over by Mayor Manuel Serrano. The event included a mass officiated by the bishop and an official ceremony at the police headquarters.

During the proceedings, several recognitions were awarded, including honors for eight citizens for their collaboration with the force, six officers for their actions during two fires, four retiring agents, and four officers with over 20 years of service. A tribute was also paid to agent Domingo Cózar, who passed away in a traffic accident.

Mayor Serrano highlighted the evolution and professionalization of the force, noting its close relationship with other security entities such as the Civil Guard, National Police, and the Subdelegation of Defense. He also offered support to towns in the province recently affected by heavy rains.
