Albacete officials address irregular municipal registration fraud

The Albacete City Council has launched a specialized citizen service point to address inquiries regarding irregular municipal registrations. First Deputy Mayor Francisco Navarro stated that the administration is committed to strictly enforcing the law against fraud and document forgery.

Navarro highlighted a recent case from June, involving collaboration with the National Police's Foreigner Brigade, where an individual was arrested for registering approximately 50 people across seven different addresses. Following the arrest, those individuals were removed from the municipal census. The council noted that irregularities can range from forged documents to discrepancies between co-owners or heirs of a single property.
