Albacete prepares for La Vuelta tenth stage
The province of Albacete is preparing for the tenth stage of La Vuelta, scheduled for September 1, which will travel from Alcaraz to Elche de la Sierra. To mark the event, the Diputación de Albacete has launched several community initiatives.
Local authorities have distributed ornamental bicycles, repurposed from old models, to the ten municipalities along the route. These installations are intended to serve as permanent public landmarks for visitors. Additionally, the mascot Toro Piñón has completed a tour of local libraries and public spaces, engaging over 1,500 children to build excitement for the race.
Economic projections suggest the event will have a significant impact, with each overnight stay by the race structure generating approximately 300,000 euros in direct revenue for local accommodations. The professional peloton is expected to arrive in the province by August 31.
