Albacete school transport routes awarded in Castilla-La Mancha

The regional government of Castilla-La Mancha has awarded contracts for 16 school transport routes in the province of Albacete. These services are scheduled to operate during the 2026-2027, 2027-2028, and 2028-2029 academic years.

The contracts, totaling 768,761.48 euros, are designed to transport students from small towns, hamlets, and dispersed settlements to their educational centers using vehicles with fewer than ten seats, such as taxis or small vehicles. This approach aims to serve rural areas where conventional buses are impractical.

The selected bids resulted in a savings of approximately 88,815.52 euros, or 10.36%, compared to the original budget of 857,577 euros. The initial contracts will last 36 months, with the possibility of a two-year extension covering the 2029-2030 and 2030-2031 school years.
