Albacete suspends musical events due to heavy rain alerts

The Diputación de Albacete has suspended two musical events scheduled for Saturday, October 17, at the Teatro de la Paz due to severe weather warnings. The affected events include the Gala de la Música at 18:30 and a concert by the Banda de la Federación Regional de Sociedades Musicales at 20:00.

The decision follows orange-level weather alerts issued by AEMET for Hellín, Almansa, and La Mancha albaceteña, predicting intense rainfall of up to 30 mm per hour. Yellow alerts for rain and storms have also been activated for the Sierras de Alcaraz and Segura.

Provincial authorities stated the suspension is a precautionary measure to avoid unnecessary risks during road travel for musicians, families, and attendees traveling from various municipalities. The institution clarified that the decision does not stem from safety concerns regarding the theater facilities itself, but rather to ensure participants can enjoy the events under better conditions.
