Albacete tourism sector holds workshop on cycle tourism development

Approximately 40 companies from the accommodation, hospitality, active tourism, and travel agency sectors participated in a working session in Ossa de Montiel focused on cycle tourism and commercialization. Organized under the Diputación de Albacete’s SACAM Integral Action Plan, the event aimed to establish the region as a reference point for sports and nature-based tourism.

Participants discussed organizing available resources, fostering inter-company collaboration, and adapting services to the needs of cyclists, with a specific focus on the Vía Verde Sierra de Alcaraz and its surroundings. The session explored creating integrated tourism products that link cycling routes with local gastronomy, cultural heritage, and lodging.

Additional topics included developing a common identity for sports tourism to improve marketability and implementing gamification tools to enhance visitor experiences. The workshop addressed diverse visitor profiles, ranging from recreational families to high-performance athletes.
