Spanish regions unveil employment, youth and humanitarian initiatives

The Andalusian Diputación de Almería allocated more than €500,000 through the Programme for Rural Employment (PFEA) to create 3,500 jobs across the municipalities of Gérgal, Nacimiento, Alcudia de Monteagudo and Tahal, funding infrastructure upgrades and environmental work.

In Loja, the Junta de Andalucía funded a summer school for 30 vulnerable minors, providing meals, tutoring and cultural trips under the management of the Red Cross.

The Diputación de Alicante announced the return of its “bono comercio” program, a discount scheme for local businesses, despite an ongoing judicial investigation into the former scheme’s administration.

Albacete’s provincial government closed the first edition of the “Jóvenes con Futuro CLM” inclusion itineraries, selecting 60 young participants; 35 % have already entered employment, with the program co‑funded by the European Social Fund Plus.

The Sherpa entrepreneurship program, supported by the Albacete Chamber of Commerce and BBVA, reported that it has helped preserve roughly 300 companies in the province.

The Junta de Andalucía recognized top‑performing secondary‑school students and those achieving the highest scores on the university entrance exam, highlighting new university degree offerings and increased funding.

Finally, the Diputación de Ciudad Real welcomed 32 Ukrainian children for a summer stay with host families, a humanitarian initiative continued by the CREAN association, originally created after the Chernobyl disaster and now aiding children affected by the war in Ukraine.
