Albaida reopens CEIP Covalta school after two-million-euro renovation

The CEIP Covalta school in Albaida has reopened for the new academic year following the completion of construction works totaling over two million euros. The project, which originally began in 2021, faced a significant delay after works were halted in 2022.

Of the total investment, approximately 1.7 million euros were funded through the Conselleria de Educación’s Pla Edificant. An additional 300,000 euros were allocated to reinforce a retaining wall, a necessary measure to ensure the safety and viability of the facility that was not part of the initial plan.

Mayor Juan Carlos Roses stated that the local government worked to resolve previous contractual issues and re-tender the works to ensure the center could open under safe conditions. The school is expected to accommodate nearly 200 students in its newly renovated classrooms, dining areas, and sports facilities.
