Kosovo authorities seize over 163,000 euros in undeclared cash at borders

Kosovo authorities have intercepted two separate instances of undeclared currency being transported via international bus lines at border crossings.

At the Dheu i Bardhë border point, the Kosovo Police and Customs seized 100,000 euros. The funds, consisting of 500 banknotes of 200 euros each, were discovered during a detailed inspection of an international bus. Legal proceedings for customs violations have been initiated against the responsible individual.

In a separate incident at the Merdar border crossing, officials discovered 63,400 euros hidden in the personal luggage of a bus driver on a route between Germany and Kosovo. The money has been seized, and the case is being processed in accordance with current legislation to combat cross-border crime.
