Albania and Switzerland prepare for Nations League fixtures

Albania national team coach Rolando Maran is set to announce his squad for upcoming Nations League group stage matches against Finland and Belarus. Albania currently leads Group C1 with 9 points, ahead of Belarus and Finland, who both have 7 points. The squad will face Finland at the Air Albania stadium on November 12, followed by a match against Belarus in Budapest on November 15. Notable absences include Armando Broja and Medon Berisha, while the physical condition of goalkeeper Thomas Strakosha remains under evaluation.

In Switzerland, coach Murat Yakin has confirmed the return of Granit Xhaka and Breel Embolo for matches against Slovenia and Scotland. Xhaka returns after previously admitting to using falsified COVID-19 vaccination certificates, an issue for which he has reportedly apologized to the coach. Yakin emphasized that Xhaka remains the team captain and leader. Embolo also returns following a period of absence related to his involvement with falsified testing certificates, though Yakin noted the need for the striker to refocus on football following his previous criticisms of the Swiss Football Federation.
