Albania Defense Minister faces scrutiny over arms production claims

Albanian Defense Minister Ermal Nufi is facing allegations of public deception following claims that the country is producing weapons currently used in international conflicts. During a parliamentary interpellation on April 23, Nufi specifically cited the company Advanced Arms Technology (AAT) as a manufacturer of such weaponry.

However, official tax documents indicate that AAT employs only two individuals: an administrator, Arjeta Puca, and a warehouse worker, Serxhio Gj. Critics argue that this small staff is insufficient to handle the manufacturing and packaging of weapons as claimed by the minister.

Concerns regarding potential international arms trafficking have also emerged. Reports suggest that AAT shareholder Ron Yeffet has discussed the importation of weapons and ammunition from Sudan for packaging in Albania. There are calls for the prosecution to summon the Defense Minister and seize customs documentation to determine if the company is involved in illegal arms trade.
