Albania national team faces injury setbacks ahead of Nations League
The Albanian national football team has faced several injury setbacks during its initial training camp for the Nations League. Midfielder Qazim Laçi has been ruled out due to a muscle injury in his left thigh discovered during medical tests. In response, coach Rolando Maran has called up Feta Fetai, the captain of the Albania U21 team currently playing for Lokomotiva Zagreb, to join the senior squad.
Despite these absences, the team's attacking options remain strong. Forwards Mirlind Daku and Taulant Seferi have expressed readiness to compete for positions and contribute to the team's goal of securing first place in their group. The players emphasized that success in the Nations League is a critical step toward qualifying for Euro 2028.
Albania is scheduled to begin its Nations League campaign on September 26 against Belarus at the ‘Air Albania’ stadium. The team's upcoming schedule also includes matches against San Marino and Finland through October 6.
