Albania poll shows potential support for new political party
An electronic poll of 1,326 adult residents in Albania indicates that approximately one-third of the country's adult population would be willing to vote for a new political party if one were to be formed. The survey, conducted by Eduard Zaloshnja, modeled the potential entity after the “Student List” electoral subject in Serbia.
According to the results, the potential support for a new party is drawn from various existing political groups: 20% of former Socialist Party (PS) voters, 30% of former Democratic Party (PD-ASHM) voters, and 30% of former small party voters. Additionally, about 60% of those who did not vote in the previous election expressed readiness to support a new party.
Despite the high level of interest, the survey highlights a lack of practical organization. While one-third of respondents expressed willingness to vote, they remain unaware of what such a political subject would look like or who its leaders might be. The report notes that while student protests and intellectual forums have appeared in the media, they have lacked the sustained organization seen in similar movements in other regions.
