Albania property disputes linked to 11,000 deaths
Security expert Fatjon Softa has stated that approximately 10,000 to 11,000 people have been killed in Albania due to property disputes since the beginning of the country's democracy.
Speaking in relation to a recent clash between businessmen in Vlorë over land, Softa described the incident as merely the “tip of the iceberg” regarding the nation's property issues. He noted that these conflicts have caused severe social consequences, including the destruction of families and clashes between clans.
Softa emphasized that property ownership remains a major unresolved issue for both the state and Albanian society, driven by escalating economic and political interests across the territory.
