Albania pushes EU integration forward amid peaceful protests

Albanian official Denaj told CNN’s Andrea Dangllin that the country’s long‑standing dream of joining the European family is close to becoming a reality, noting that institutions are working intensively on the technical and political steps required. She commented on the ongoing peaceful protests held on the 26th in front of the prime minister’s office, praising their non‑violent and civic nature.

Denaj reminded citizens that issues raised by protesters can be addressed through the voting process scheduled for 11 May, and stressed the need for greater transparency, communication and accountability from public institutions. She cited the parliamentary commission as a tool for public hearings involving civil society and political forces, underscoring that such hearings are publicly accessible.
