Albania targets €8.5 billion in tourism revenue by 2030

Albania is targeting €8.5 billion in tourism revenue by 2030, according to Minister of Economy and Innovation Delina Ibrahimaj. Speaking at the Future Hospitality Forum 2026 in Tirana, Ibrahimaj noted that international tourism revenue has grown significantly, rising from €2.8 billion three years ago to €5.7 billion last year, with 12.5 million tourists visiting the country.

The government's strategy aims to shift focus from merely increasing visitor numbers to maximizing the value generated per visit and extending the tourist season. Data shows that overnight stays outside the peak summer months increased by nearly 80% between 2023 and 2025.

Complementing this economic outlook, British media outlet Metro has identified Albania as a top destination for October travel. The outlet highlights the country's moderate temperatures, lower prices, and reduced crowds during the shoulder season. Recommended locations include the Albanian Riviera, the UNESCO World Heritage site of Berat, Tirana, and the Albanian Alps.
