Albania traffic violations: Illegal parking leads road safety infractions

According to 2025 road safety statistics from the Institute of Statistics (INSTAT), illegal parking and stopping in prohibited areas have become the most frequent traffic violations in Albania. This category accounted for 34% of all administrative measures in 2025, showing a steady increase from 31.1% in 2024 and 30% in 2023.

Speeding violations remain the second most common infraction at 18.9%, though this represents a significant decrease from 25.4% in 2024. Other notable violations include failure to respect road signs (14.3%), improper overtaking (7.7%), failure to use seatbelts (5.5%), and mobile phone use while driving (3.4%).

Overall, the total number of administrative measures recorded in the report increased by 2.2% during 2025 compared to the previous year.
