Albanian artists delayed by political debate in Culture Committee

Singer-songwriters and artists were forced to wait outside the Parliamentary Committee on Culture, Tourism, and Diaspora due to a lengthy political debate between majority and opposition members regarding a draft law on copyright.

During the session, Committee Chair Ina Zhupa criticized Prime Minister Edi Rama, referencing his recent participation in the UN General Assembly and a National Security Council meeting. Zhupa alleged that the officials meeting to discuss national security are the same individuals facing investigations by SPAK.

In response, Socialist Party deputy Erion Malaj dismissed the criticisms, stating that justice should not be influenced by political interests and that the judiciary is responsible for handling such matters.
