Albanian Democratic Party PPE reacts to student protests in Tirana

The European People's Party (PPE) has issued a response regarding recent student protests and developments in Albania. The party called for the strict respect of democratic standards, human rights, and the rule of law.

In its statement, the PPE emphasized that violence has no place in a democracy and asserted that the right to peaceful protest must be fully respected. The party demanded that any claims of excessive, illegal, or disproportionate use of force by law enforcement be investigated immediately and independently.

The PPE further stated that current tensions should be addressed through dialogue and democratic engagement, noting that the voice of young people must be heard.
