Albanian diaspora and new financial tools drive regional economic shifts
The Albanian and Kosovar diaspora is emerging as a strategic economic asset, transitioning from a source of remittances to a generator of significant professional and entrepreneurial value. While the region has historically faced a loss of human capital to Western Europe and North America, a new generation of mature professionals is creating global value. Examples include Krenar Komoni, founder of the half-billion-dollar technology platform Tive, and Arber Sejdiji, who contributes to global retail transformation from Zurich.
In the local financial sector, Bank of Prishtina (BPB) has introduced the SOLO card, a financial product designed to offer flexibility in personal finance management. The card allows users to make purchases and pay in up to 36 interest-free installments, aiming to provide greater control over monthly budgets for various expenses including electronics, furniture, and travel.
