Albanian Diaspora's 10th New York Protest Backs Tirana Demonstrations

Albanian-Americans in New York and surrounding states held their 10th consecutive weekly protest on Sunday, 2 August, in front of the Albanian Consulate and the Permanent Mission of Albania to the United Nations. The demonstration was organised to show solidarity with the anti‑government protests in Tirana, which marked their 65th day of continuous street action.

Participants carried the same slogans and banners used by demonstrators in Albania and called for the resignation of Prime Minister Edi Rama. Activist Mark Qehaja, who has taken part since the first week, said the diaspora will keep organising weekly gatherings to maintain international pressure while the protests continue in Albania.
