Albanian educators call for dialogue with Prime Minister Edi Rama

The organization ‘Udha e shkronjave’ has issued a call for educators to authorize a partial dialogue with Prime Minister Edi Rama to address specific national and cultural concerns. The group argues that the Prime Minister’s previous calls for dialogue have been performative and seeks to engage in a serious discussion regarding the future of the Albanian national education system.

Key demands for the dialogue include the reinstatement of Naim Frashëri’s title as ‘National Poet’ following its removal by Law 93/2022, the removal of Thomas Frashëri from public office, and the restoration of certain national museum statuses. Additionally, the group has presented a list of ten non-financial requirements and a final eleventh demand for the resignation of the current government.
