Albanian Football Federation adopts new 2026‑27 match calendar for Abissnet Superiore and First Division

The Executive Committee of the Albanian Football Federation (FSHF) approved a proposal to overhaul the match‑day schedule for the top‑tier Abissnet Superiore and the First Category leagues. The new timetable will be implemented from the 2026‑27 season and is intended to improve the organization of domestic competitions, align with television broadcast requirements and give players adequate recovery time.

The schedule sets matches primarily on Fridays, Saturdays and Sundays, with adjustments when national‑team fixtures occur, in which case games will be limited to Friday and Saturday. In special circumstances, matches may also be scheduled on Mondays. The plan was drafted by the Department of Competitions in cooperation with the League and Competition Commission after consulting club officials.

The federation aims to optimise the competition calendar, enhance the quality of the leagues and provide better conditions for clubs, players, broadcasters and fans.
