Albanian Forces Contain Wildfire in Finiq and Delvinë

A wildfire broke out in the villages of Finiq and the nearby town of Delvinë in southern Albania, burning for more than three hours and threatening homes and forested areas.

The Ministry of Defence, led by Minister Ermal Nufi, reported that three Air Force helicopters were deployed simultaneously, working with armed forces personnel, firefighters, police, and local authorities. The operation was coordinated with the National Civil Protection Agency and municipal services. Minister Nufi praised the pilots, saying, “Punë e jashtëzakonshme e pilotëve të Forcave Ajrore me ndërhyrjen e 3 helikopterëve njëkohësisht… situata është vënë nën kontroll.” Interior Minister Besfort Lamallari also confirmed that all state structures were on the ground and the response continued without interruption. The fire has been brought under control and monitoring continues to prevent re‑ignition.
