Albanian Health Minister Spahiu addresses healthcare reforms and appointments
Albanian Minister of Health and Social Welfare, Klodiana Spahiu, has addressed ongoing challenges within the national healthcare system following a coordination meeting with primary and hospital service leaders. Spahiu emphasized that systemic issues cannot be resolved overnight and called for continuous field presence and active listening to citizen concerns to improve care.
In a separate response to political questioning regarding the appointment of Yllka Kukalaj, Spahiu defended the decision based on professional merit. She noted that Kukalaj, an economist, has extensive experience managing budgets and salaries in Kruja and has previously led a hospital through significant crises, including earthquakes and the pandemic. Spahiu asserted that professional expertise must take precedence over political criticism.
