Albanian leaders attend Israeli Embassy ceremony for October 7 anniversary

Albanian political leaders participated in an official ceremony organized by the Israeli Embassy in Tirana to commemorate the anniversary of the October 7, 2023, terrorist attacks in Israel.

Taulant Balla, Chairman of the Socialist Party Parliamentary Group, emphasized that remembering the victims and showing solidarity with their families is an obligation. He condemned terrorism and antisemitism, noting the historical Albanian tradition of protecting Jewish people during the Holocaust and the concept of ‘Besa’ as a foundation for coexistence.

Deputy Prime Minister Albana Koçiu also attended, honoring the 1,200 innocent lives lost during the Hamas attacks. She stated that such acts of barbarism cannot be justified or relativized and reaffirmed Albania's commitment to standing with Israel and those defending democratic liberties and global peace.
