Albanian literary figures Izet Duraku and Naim Frashëri honored

The Albanian literary and intellectual community is mourning the passing of prominent writer, scholar, and publicist Izet Duraku. Duraku passed away on October 22, 2026, following a serious illness. He was laid to rest in his birthplace, the village of Morin in Kukës, surrounded by family, colleagues, and friends from Kukës and Tirana.

In a separate cultural tribute, researcher Sadik Bejko has presented a monographic text regarding the final days of the renowned poet Naim Frashëri. The text, written by Frashëri’s nephew Mit’hat Frashëri in 1901, provides a historical account of the poet's passing in Frashër. The document offers a personal perspective on the impact of Frashëri’s death on his family and the broader Albanian community.
